Next Up

I've been photocopying my hands, faster than trying to sketch them. The results are striking me as kind of creepy.

A pair will go on this fat quarter of hand-dyed fabric, soon I hope. I've been busying myself with the post-African quilt straightening of the studio, plus sorting and washing of the fabric left over from it. I endured the possible cat dander in order to meet the deadline, but now I want it pristine before incorporating it into my stash.

They're not creepy. They remind me of the hands on native rock art!

Would a scan give different results than the photocopy?

I think what makes them feel creepy to me is that I just did b & W and there's all that shadowing in the back due to the fact the lid couldn't go flat, if you get my drift. And I couldn't get my hands to hover well so on some of them, they definitely are squished against the glass. So they look to me like some disembodied soul pressing up against a window!

I don't think scanning would give any different results,Margaret, especially since what I am using is a 3-in-1 machine: copier, scanner, printer all in one.
