Thanks for posting your inspiring story.

I have a quote that I have posted that keeps me going"
"To accomplish great things we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe." My brother tried this one on his son, "We can have anything we want, we just can't have everything we want." I found that very helpful for myself - no kids to convince, just me! It's all about focusing on the really important things and then working hard to achieve them.

Pat - you're welcome!

Chris - Many times over the years I've wondered if that painting is still in their permanent collection. In flusher years, I even considered contacting them to let them know if they ever decided to sell it, I'd be interested. Of course, I didn't realize what a famous American painter Glackens is until recently - even in my flush years I'd not be able to afford it! So glad to have the postcard...The Idaho Beautyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09979439849662755082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19193398.post-90833065265867579032009-04-14T18:47:00.000-07:002009-04-14T18:47:00.000-07:00This just goes to show what art is about. It's a lovely story and I'm glad you got through your sticky patch. A quote from my youth seems to fit your post. I used to say it to my daughters on those occasions when I couldn't afford to keep them in the lifestyle they wanted to become accustomed to..."we're very rich, but we just don't have any money" I don't recall them being overly impressed though!!The WestCountryBuddhahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01015413706081534783noreply@blogger.com
