What Do You Think?

Enough stitching or should I keep going?

I love the folded corner with the straight stitching underneath, and the panels of straight stitches further into the piece. Absolutely lovely.

It's your art... My since you asked... I think it would be fun to continue this experiment and add some vertical quilting lines to the area that has the wavy quilting. I'd start with just emphasizing the vertical lines in the fabric. I'd use a different quilting thread color. I love the fabric and would like to bring the vertical and horizontal design back to the forefront. I think that now the wavy lines have the attention. That being said, it's still cool the way it is now.

I like it this way. There are several focus points to look at. If you stitch more, it might kill them. But that's only my opinion of course!

Thanks for the comments, although I'm not sure they've helped me make up my mind! You've mostly echoed my several thoughts. Yes, I'm tempted to quilt a few single vertical lines through the middle. The more I look at it the more I think it needs a stopping point in there.

Ahava, I'm hesitant though to emphasize too much the vertical and horizontal lines in the fabric. The whole idea of the piece is breaking out of the rigid gridwork, hence the title, Off the Grid.

It's very nice to know you all think it a good piece as it currently stands. That in itself is helpful. Thanks!
